Bangladesh Supports Cameroon's Agricultural Development Through Jute Sack Technology

À l'occasion du lancement officiel de la campagne caféière 2025/2026 ce 16 Janvier 2026 à BADITOUM dans l'arrondissement du Haut-Nyong, je tiens à saluer le Gouvernement de la République du Cameroun, sous la Très Haute Impulsion de Son Excellence Monsieur PAUL BIYA, Président de la République, ainsi qu'au Ministère du Commerce et au Ministère de l'Agriculture et du Développement Rural, pour les avancées remarquables enregistrées dans la structuration et la valorisation de la filière Café/Cacao.
Les performances actuelles, marquées par des prix historiquement élevés et par la mise en place d'infrastructures innovantes telles que le Centre d'Excellence Café Robusta de Baditoum, témoignent d'une vision claire : celle d'une agriculture moderne, compétitive et créatrice de richesse au bénéfice direct des producteurs.
Les SACs EN JUTE : Une Solution Stratégique
Dans cette dynamique de montée en gamme et de conquête des marchés internationaux, la question du conditionnement et de la conservation des produits agricoles revêt une importance stratégique. À cet égard, les SACs EN JUTE, dont la République Populaire du Bangladesh est le leader mondial incontesté en matière de fabrication, constituent à ce jour l'unique emballage biodégradable répondant efficacement aux exigences de conservation, d'aération et de respect des normes internationales d'humidité pour des produits tels que le café, le cacao, les oignons ou encore les pommes de terre.
Coopération Sud-Sud en Action
C'est dans cet esprit de coopération Sud–Sud que nous avons eu l'honneur, il y a quelques années, d'accompagner l'Ambassadeur de la République Populaire du Bangladesh dans plusieurs bassins de production au Cameroun, notamment à Mbangassina, Obala et dans le Moungo afin d'évaluer, aux côtés des coopératives, des exportateurs, du Mincommerce, l'ONCC, et la Chambre d'agriculture les besoins réels du terrain.
Cette démarche s'inscrivait dans un double objectif :
- Rendre les sacs en jute accessibles et disponibles à moindre coût pour les acteurs des filières agricoles ;
- À moyen terme, implanter une unité moderne de fabrication de sacs en jute au Cameroun, destinée à approvisionner l'ensemble des pays de la sous-région.
Un tel projet contribuerait significativement à la création d'emplois, à la réduction de la fuite des devises, au transfert de savoir-faire industriel et à la consolidation de la compétitivité des produits camerounais sur les marchés internationaux.
En tant que Consul Honoraire désigné de la République Populaire du Bangladesh au Cameroun, je réaffirme l'entier disponibilité du Bangladesh à accompagner le Cameroun dans cette vision ambitieuse, durable et mutuellement bénéfique, au service des producteurs, des exportateurs et du développement économique de nos deux pays.

On the occasion of the official launch of the 2025/2026 coffee campaign on January 16, 2026, in BADITOUM in the Haut-Nyong district, I would like to commend the Government of the Republic of Cameroon, under the Very High Impulse of His Excellency Mr. PAUL BIYA, President of the Republic, as well as the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, for the remarkable progress made in structuring and enhancing the Coffee/Cocoa sector.
Current performances, marked by historically high prices and the establishment of innovative infrastructure such as the Baditoum Robusta Coffee Center of Excellence, demonstrate a clear vision: that of a modern, competitive agriculture that creates wealth for the direct benefit of producers.
JUTE SACKS: A Strategic Solution
In this dynamic of moving up the value chain and conquering international markets, the issue of packaging and preservation of agricultural products is of strategic importance. In this regard, JUTE SACKS, for which the People's Republic of Bangladesh is the undisputed world leader in manufacturing, currently constitute the only biodegradable packaging that effectively meets the requirements for preservation, aeration, and compliance with international humidity standards for products such as coffee, cocoa, onions, and potatoes.
South-South Cooperation in Action
It is in this spirit of South-South cooperation that we had the honor, a few years ago, to accompany the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to several production basins in Cameroon, notably in Mbangassina, Obala, and the Moungo region, in order to assess, alongside cooperatives, exporters, the Ministry of Commerce, ONCC, and the Chamber of Agriculture, the real needs on the ground.
This approach had a dual objective:
- To make jute sacks accessible and available at lower cost for stakeholders in agricultural sectors;
- In the medium term, to establish a modern jute sack manufacturing unit in Cameroon, intended to supply all countries in the sub-region.
Such a project would significantly contribute to job creation, reduction of foreign currency outflow, transfer of industrial know-how, and consolidation of the competitiveness of Cameroonian products on international markets.
As the designated Honorary Consul of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Cameroon, I reaffirm the full availability of Bangladesh to support Cameroon in this ambitious, sustainable, and mutually beneficial vision, serving producers, exporters, and the economic development of both our countries.
